President of The King Rankin Institute, an LLC for geology education
The King Rankin Institute is an LLC for Earth Science education that I established.
P.B. King (1908-1987) was the author of the Geologic Map of the U.S. He did outstanding field mapping in the Blue Ridge and authored numerous papers, maps, and books. D.W. Rankin (1932-2015) was an extraordinary field geologist in the Blue Ridge and authored numerous maps, reports, and books.
Both men were talented regional geologists that had the ability to synthesize complex geology. The Institute honors their unique talents as we strive to carry the torch for future generations.
